Hi. Anthony Manly, here from selfmanagedbusiness.com, here in Australia. We’ve got spring, which is fast approaching. It means that the weather is going to warm up. At the moment, it’s not looking the best, it’s where the weather is starting to warm up. People want to do activities outside, and people want to clean up. It’s starting to come out of hibernation from winter, so to speak.

With that in mind, now is the time of year to take advantage of this particular event and ingest it into your marketing. And what I mean by ingested is that start to talk about activities that are involved outside, that is involving warm weather.

And what I’m going to do is just walk you through some ideas and I’m just going to read you out. This specific one that I quite like is drawing on your senses.

Now, when we say drawing on your senses, we’re talking about taste, smell, touch, sight, and sound. And you want to evoke powerful emotions.

Now what I’m about to read to you, which I found quite interesting, are these statistics, and these statistics are market researchers found that colors affect shopping habits.

Now, this is quite interesting impulse shoppers, they respond best to the following colors: red, orange, black, and royal blue.

Now that’s interesting in itself.

So if an impulse buyer is looking for a specific product, they are the colors that will attract them.

The traditional shoppers respond best to the following colors: pastels, pink roses, and sky blue.

So it’s not interesting how a traditional buyer who would follow a traditional buying pattern would be attracted to those types of colors.

And then thirdly, you’ve got your budget shoppers.

And I think we all can relate to being budget shoppers.

A budget shopper will respond best to pink teal, light blue, and navy.

So I found those statistics quite interesting because, without that type of information, it’s difficult to understand how people will respond. And if you incorporate some of those colors with sounds, sight, like anything to do with sight, smell, taste really to evoke emotion out of a buyer who’s looking to buy, whether it be now or whether it be in the future, and then you add in those colors, I think you’d be in a pretty good position.

Now, pretty much. You can honestly say that people are pretty tired of a gloomy winter. They are out looking for that opportunity, any opportunity they can use to get outside.

So anything that you can do that’s going to talk about getting outside, whether it be if you run a business which is mowing lawns, for example, you want to start talking to people about mowing their lawns.

However, if you’re running a business or coaching business, it could be a fitness business. And you want to talk about boot camps, you want to talk about signing up and spending time in the sunshine, evoking people’s emotions.

So you know what? That would be a great idea. 

I’m so looking forward to the warmer weather after the cold weather we’ve dealt with.

Now that’s just one idea.

Another idea is you want to talk about the weather, which I’ve spoken about before, but you also want to capitalize on the holidays.

So the kids are looking for that break as well. They’re out there and they’ve got their school holidays, they’ve got their school holidays so they want to get out and enjoy the school holidays as well.

So talk about places that involve that warm weather, whether it be sports behind that.

Now here in Australia, we have a lot of grand finals in a lot of sporting events and one of those happens to be what we call National Rugby League, which is the NRL.

And a lot of people they’re attracted to that one weekend that follows Rugby League. They’re interested in watching sports on TV.

Now if you capitalize on that or capitalize around that particular time, you can get some marketing out there that would assist you in your journey.

So for example, if you were coaching dentists to grow their dental surgeries, what you could do is you could help them build some kind of campaign that talks about teeth and football.

So in other words, get a mouth guard to protect your teeth.

Best time of year to do it because obviously, people are watching football. They’ve got kids that are up and rising and they want people to take advantage of any offer they’re offering. Another thing is you want to focus on those types of people that want something now.

And when I say I want something now, it’s something that they need to assist them to achieve something. So most people when it comes to spring, they want to clean up.

So everyone calls it a spring clean.

So what can you do?

Can you give them a checklist about how to reset your goals for this time of year? We’re now three-quarters of the way through the year.

What are your goals for the year?

Hey. Spring cleaning time. Time to clean out your closet, time to put your winter clothes away, and bring out your spring clothes. Have you decided on something that you’re going to put inside of your house to brighten up the area, and make it smell better for example?

These are all different types of things and tips and tricks that people are looking for.

And how does it help you as a coach?

It specifically helps you because you’re helping them. You’re getting them a quick result and they’re listening to you because you’re out there giving them that quick result.

And once you give them that quick result and they get something out of it, you will then find that they’ll come back to you. Whether it be immediately or not long after or even up to twelve months. You should always see them as a long-term prospects.

Another thing that you need to think about is this time of year, with it being warm, people, in general, will follow what others tend to do.

So if Mary is in there cleaning out her house or cleaning up her desk or cleaning out her prospect list as an example, or cleaning out old marketing campaigns, you’ll find that other people will follow suit.

So what I’m suggesting is you get on the bandwagon for this time of year. It’s a perfect opportunity, especially around spring, to start to invoke those senses that the warmer weather is on its way, or it’s almost upon us here in Australia within the next two weeks.

So get on it, take advantage and get out there and stop being amongst it.
