What Are You Afraid Of?

Anthony | September 12, 2022

Hi, Anthony Manly here from Today I want to talk to you about what are you afraid of. So when the rich and famous tumble and fall, there are always a lot of people who celebrate. And if you think about it, it’s sort of like the masses in Iraq the day the stage of Sudan was pulled down and you had all these commoners that were looting the palace, people rejoiced, and they were happy about that.

And there are also things that go on in America, and I don’t want to dwell on America, but Trump was also one of those people, too, and he was copying a lot of flak in exchange for speaking out, about speaking his mind, essentially.

Well, mostly he was quite truthful in what he was saying. But they never think of these people pulling other people down about, let’s say, the 10,000 jobs that are at stake, or the negative economic impact on vendors who also control thousands of paychecks.

Feel the fear and do it anyway.

So there’s never any thought in the celebration over crashed empires of any kind, no thought around the collateral damage.

So the size of your fear determines the size of your accomplishment, and along with that, your bank account. So just never forget that point.

Now, I think you need to sit back and just ask yourself one question: Do you fear a slip and fall?

fear face, face fear and do it anyway, what are you afraid of

A messy mistake, for example, or public embarrassment?

No one who fears this can ever rise to the top of anything. The size of your fear determines the size of your accomplishment, and along with that, your bank account. So never forget that often when consultants failĀ

And land looks pretty high and good to most people when you’re looking from the outside in.

Now, if you’re going to take a loss, it’s probably better to go from, say, a million dollars down to half a million dollars, as opposed to a million dollars down to $10,000.

You got to remember, it’s good to get rich, even if there are few reversals of fortune now and then, and maybe towards the end, then you can let spectators enjoy the slip and fall as they wish. And while they’re still laughing, at least you can laugh all the way to the bank.

Now, if you’re a true consultant, you always have 1ft on a banana.

So you’re always just waiting for that slip to occur. You’re always thinking big. You’re always doing big things. You’re always doing those things that leave you open to plates of egg on your face. But when you think about it, it’s almost like what Churchill said to Lady Esther after she told him about being drunk.

She rebuked him, is the word. He responded and said, I may be drunk, but in the morning I’ll be stover and you will still be ugly. So just remember that. Understand your fear, accept it. And just remember, you’re always pushing ahead.

And I think we all feel fear at some point. But by taking action, you can overcome that fear.
