Off Ramp

Hi. Anthony Manly here from selfmanagedbusiness.com. Today I want to talk to you about what Russell Brunson has labeled the Off Ramp. And I think this is absolutely genius in the way that it’s structured.

So what you’ll find is when somebody signs up for a product or service of yours, whether that be a simple lead magnet, we normally take them through some form of the welcome email sequence.

Now it’s normally a sequence of emails that says, hey, thanks for joining, this is what you can expect. And then you start to talk to them about what they can expect to come from you. It’s designed to build rapport and build it fast. It’s designed to keep them continually opening your emails.

It’s also designed to bounce them around a little bit to give them an understanding, Well hey! Guess what, here’s some great content. You might be interested in this, you might be interested in that. And it’s also to give them some more perceived value and build upon what you’ve just delivered.

And it’s more of a sequence that’s built for those types of people that are interested in following a sequential order. And most of us as marketers, that’s what we do, we think to ourselves, well hang on a minute, if I’m going to follow this snakes and ladder sequence which is, Hey, I signed up for this, this is the next logical step, this is what you need to do. It makes sense to us.

However, it’s not always the case for somebody who signed up for your list. People are excited when they first sign up.

They want to understand what’s going on straight away.

Now Russell Brunson came up with what’s called the Off Ramp.

Now the Off Ramp is a footer in your email sequence that details what’s the next step, but it puts out everything quite simply.

So in other words, it’s your full letter sequence.

So what you could be doing is with regards to your business coaching, you could be offering a small product to start with, which is how to get started as a business coach.

You could be offering a high-priced product which is your ongoing coaching sequence, which is a twelve-month program. It could be as small as a one-on-one consulting, or it could be joining this list and getting more emails like I’m sending you right now.

Or you can sign up and get this small piece of information or this workbook for this workshop that I’m running.

Now if you lay that out and it’s quite a simple process to do in the base of an email in the footer, You’d be very surprised at how many times people will just skip the sequence and go to the bottom of the email and just go, you know what, that’s what I’m looking for, that’s what I’ve signed up for.

I’m not interested in this sequence of emails. It’s going to nurture me and take me through a logical sequence.

And what you may need to understand is that it’s essentially an off ramp for the on ramp.

So they come on to a ramp to understand what you’re all about, but hey, they need to get an exit out of there and it could be at any part of that particular piece of the funnel.

And when I say a piece of the funnel, it’s more of your marketing funnel.

So give it a go.

I’m going to put some examples inside of our community so that people can see how to build an Off Ramp and how simple it is to take what you might have on your website. If you go to selfmanagebusiness.com, you’ll notice that we have three products just below the fold.

So when you land on the page, you’ll notice that there are three core products.

In other words, how to grow your business.

There’s another piece there about how to get clients fast, or how to get leads quite quickly. And if you notice that there are three different types of products.

One for people that are looking for a specific solution straight away.

One that is looking for a medium-term solution,

And one that is looking for a long-term solution.

It’s as simple as adding those three things to the end of your email.

So give it a go.

It’s called the Off Ramp, and I will provide more details.
